2019 Winners

Home-maker Deepa Wadhwa-Joshi won a round air ticket to India from the airlines Air India in the first Bollywood Bees quiz  competition that was held at Regal Hadley theatre in New Jersey on October 20, 2019.

Deepa who is a qualified lawyer gives credit to her father for her Bollywood knowledge but said that after participating int he quiz she felt that she still has to learn a lot. She said, `` Dumb Charades round was difficult for me and I hope to get that better by next time.’'

She even praised the team of Bollywood bees saying that persuasiveness of the organizers was impressive or else she would've missed a chance to be part of such an interesting competition.

This tri-state competition which included New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania had 12 contestants in the last lap of the competition. There were 6 finalist in the last round of the competition.

The first runners up of the first Bollywood Bees competition was  Atul Vyas, An IT professional, Atul has been a cinema buff since his college days and writes a blog called cinema vibes. He said, `` the filmy keeda bit me in college and since then I have been watching movies from all over the globe. This competition gave me a chance to challenged my knowledge on Bollywood. I am glad that I got a chance to participate in the quiz.’'

The second runners up was a tie between software professional Nikhil Sharma and home-maker Ruchee Kachalia. Nikhil gives the entire credit of his participation to his wife for nominating him for the Bollywood Bees quiz and said that the competition was exciting and enjoyed being part of it.

Another second runners up Ruchee Kachalia's parents were happier than herself. She said that her parents are huge Bollywood fans from whom she has caught the Bollywood bug. The young home-maker said that more than the competition she is happy that she participated and has made friends and they continue to keep in touch even after the quiz.

After the successful first year of Bollywood Bees, the organizers of the competition plan to take national in 2020. Founder Hemant Pandya informs, `` the plan is to have competition in each state and winner of each state will compete  for the national with the finale coinciding with the third edition of New Jersey Indian International Film Festival next year.

Bollywood Bees plans to take the quiz show internationally slowly starting with India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand.
