In his autobiography Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor revealed that both Shah Rukh Khan’s and Sunny Deol’s roles in Darr were first offered to him. He turned them down but personally recommended Shah Rukh Khan to Yash Chopra, believing SRK could do justice to the negative role. Interestingly, SRK and Rishi Kapoor had already shared the screen in Deewana.
